Columbus Dispatch E-Edition App Description

The Columbus Dispatch Electronic Edition brings you the page-by-page design and flow of each day’s paper straight to your iPad. As a subscriber you can download an exact replica of The Dispatch — including every page, story, photo and ad — whenever you want so you can take it wherever you want. The Dispatch iPad Edition is perfect for travelers, former central Ohioans, readers who don’t live in the Dispatch delivery area, folks who want to stay up to date on their favorite Columbus teams — or anyone who wants to take the paper with them every morning. Here's just some of what’s great about the E-Edition of the publication named the state's Best Newspaper by the Ohio Associated Press Media Editors the last four years in a row: • It’s been updated to more closely replicate the popular online Electronic Edition. Now, you can chose from a wider number of display options, get a quick “at a glance” digest of the day’s contents and more. This is no mere flipping of pages. • A left-hand sidebar takes you beyond each day’s edition with a live feed of Dispatch stories and updates as they’re posted • You can search within a day’s paper or in back issues of dates you choose. Search articles, ads, pictures — search it all! • It's quick to download and you can begin reading the front page while the rest of the newspaper downloads in the background
 • The toolbar allows you to easily jump around from section to section, bookmark stories, search the entire paper and more • You can read stories on the page (as you would the print edition), tap once to enlarge and tap twice for a special “story view”
 • Tapping a story’s “jump line” takes you directly to its continuation
 • You can easily share stories via email and popular social networks • Websites and email addresses mentioned in stories and ads are hot-linked
 • You can hang on to each paper for as long as you'd like — or delete it right after you're done

Columbus Dispatch E-Edition App Reviews

  • Sign in daily??

    By Gramma Hill
On a vacation in the same hotel room why do I have to sign in every time I look at the paper. The app freezes constantly!!!
  • Just OK when it works.

    By MyEdPlace
This app is among the worst of the worst overall and is easily the worst newspaper app ever conceived. Even after figuring out the counter-intuitive nature of drilling down to an article, half the time selecting an article causes a blank screen that can only be resolved by deleting th app, restarting the device, reloading the app and hoping you figured out how to log in without creating another billing account. Beware of being double-billed!
  • Worst app

    By Critic of the world
This app is the worst app I have ever used. To have to sign in every time, have it freeze every time and then have to sign in again is infuriating. What's even worse is no one seems to care at all and try to fix it!i think I am just going to quit the Dispatch.
  • Constant pop up videos

    By RobAbroad
This app crashes frequently. It also pops up videos on almost every new story filling the entire screen. It’s extremely annoying to say the same video appear over and over again.

Worst app ever. Can’t log in. Horrible customer service when I called in to try to resolve. I wouldn’t care if delivery of the paper version was reliable. It’s not! Zero stars.
  • Terrible

Can’t get the paper on average two days a week. Sign on and get front page only. Tech support of no help
  • Unstable App

Unable to use. Locks up. Several calls, no improvement.
  • Great paper, horrible app!

    By Lake Rat Jim
While we love being able to read our favorite paper on our iPads, this app is a buggy and unstable piece of software. Most days it will require us to sign in again, and after we sign in the screen will freeze. The only way we can read the paper is by totally shutting our iPad down and rebooting. This has been going on for months without a fix.
  • Worst ever

    By our3pets
Like many others I found this app always required me to sign in in spite of the fact I always checked “remember me” and many times froze after I did get it opened. I reported this several times and lastly to Michelle Everhart, assistant digital manager who acknowledged that she knew there was a problem and would take it to a higher level. After 2 weeks of the same frustration, I canceled our subscription. After all there are so many ways to get news.
  • Disappointed and Frustrated

We dropped the daily Dispatch after more than 20 years due to delivery problems and only have the Sunday paper and e-edition subscription now. For last month we have to re-sign in every day despite selecting remember me. Once signed in, the paper is frozen for a couple of minutes before being able to actually read it. The end of any subscription is near if this app doesn't improve
