  • Great for moving between phone and desktop!

I love that this app allows me to enter recipes in from my desktop. The tool to convert from a blog post to a recipe could be better. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. But this is my favorite recipe app.

I love this App! I was using multiple apps for the recipes I was storing and not really loving any of them. To add to my frustration using multiple apps, made it more difficult to remember which app had the specific recipe I was hunting for. The solution was to find one app that would import from anywhere with photos and have the allowance of notes I could add once a recipe was made. Cookbook fit my needs perfectly! It has flawlessly imported every single recipe I wanted in it thus far. It was well worth the money for this app. I did have to save photos a couple times to add to the recipes because for whatever reason they wouldn’t import. But it’s so easy to save a photo and then add it, I don’t consider this an issue at all. The organization and beautiful photo gallery display for your recipes makes you want to cook the minute you open it! I love the calendar and shopping list that help you figure out what you want to cook for the week and how many ingredients you will need to buy. I’m not so sure about the pdf import feature. It seemed like it had a little trouble reading my recipes when I tried importing them this way. The ingredients weren’t coming out with the right measurements. I fixed that by using copy and paste. All fixed! I haven’t tried the photo import feature but I do have some recipes ripped from magazines that I will at some point import. I am very excited to try this feature so I don’t have to type the whole recipe out myself. The sharing feature is as amazing as the rest of this app! You can choose from several formats to share from. The recipes look absolutely beautiful in an email and text. Making it a delight to share my recipes with friends and family. This app is simply amazing and I am so glad I found it. Thank you for making such a perfect app!
  • Love most of it so far

I just got this and am still working on how I want to use it. So far I love that I can snap pictures to import recipes and not have to type it all. It’s easy to add pictures of the dishes and steps. I can make up my own tags so I can organize things in my own way. I can add notes. There’s a way to back up what I’ve entered. I can share it on my devices. And I love that there’s no subscription fee which really turned me off of other app choices. Things I’m still trying to work out is editing the data after an import can be cumbersome. Sometimes it adds funky characters that I cannot get rid of no matter what I try, including deleting and adding manually. And I wish I could print an index card format vs a full page pdf. I’m also leery about having a full database of recipes on my phone. I don’t want to buy more phone memory just for recipes! But I have yet to see if that’s really going to be a problem or not. Overall I’m really pleased.

This app is phenomenal. I was brainstorming features I would want in a recipe, meal, and shopping list planner app of my own creation when I came across this app. To see each idea and more come to life in a sleek, well-designed, intuitive, and powerful manner in this app was euphoric. It is better than I could have ever dreamed of! Everything I wanted and more. Good price made it more attractive than other apps. I love the abilities to import recipes from pictures, other recipe formats, and file types. The user interface was easy to grasp and follow even on my first recipe import. I would love to see some sort of bulk import (API?) in the future, but most of my saved recipes are pictures anyway. I’m not sure if there is some sort of syncing family plan where recipes, plans, and lists can be synced between linked user accounts or devices, but that would be awesome too. Lots of praise and kudos for this app!!!!

A recipe/meal planner app without nutrition analyzer? What?! How can you even call this a meal planner app when it doesn’t analyze recipes/ingredients for nutrition info? That’s what meal planning is all about. I guess you can paste in the nutritional content, but that means I either A) Have to upload recipes from the internet that already have that detail AND I can’t deviate from the recipe (like change ingredients to make it healthier) or B) I have to upload it to another app (like MyFitnessPal) to first work out the recipe the way I want it and then upload it to this app and then manually enter the nutritional info. Goodness forbid I should want to add a physical paper/book recipe. I’d have to take the extra step of manually adding that to another app (painstaking) to get the nutritional first. I’m disappointed that I paid money for this. I wish I could get the money back and never see this app again. In this day and age, I cannot believe they haven’t linked up to a food database for REAL cookbook and meal planning abilities.

This is the first app that I saw allowing access to recipes offline. It’s super easy to copy any recipe to this platform. Love, love, love this app. This has made my life so much easier!
  • Pretty good app, but with some serious flaws

This is a great app for viewing and storing recipes! My only gripe is that these days many people use kindle and PDF’s for recipes and this app doesn’t have easy functionality for adding steps to each recipe. Great app overall, but has some some important drawbacks. Hence only a 3 star review for me.
  • Best App for Recipes

I have put off making a review for far too long on this app. This app is amazing. I have downloaded almost every single recipe app and none of them compare at all to this one. It is so easy to use. The drop down menus, scrolling and changing pages happens fast and smooth. The font, graphics and layouts is truly appealing to the eyes. It makes you want to cook. Here are some of my favorite features. Leftovers 🥦🍅🧀🍐🥔 You can search leftover ingredients that you have and it will bring up the recipes that include these ingredients, perfect when you’re tired to think of what to make. Favorites ❤️ It helps so much to come up with ideas of what to cook using your favorites. You can search the main foods/ingredients you have and just like the leftovers, it’ll pull up all the recipes with your ingredients and you can go through and heart your favorites. Under the favorites tag you have a gorgeous list of your recipes. Now you’re ready, you have meal ideas with the foods you’ll actually use that week, and will feel prepared with a ton of your recipes and inspiration to cook! Meal Planner 🍽 If you’re into details, then the meal planner covers that. You can set as many recipes to your breakfast, lunch, snack, appetizer, dinner and of course dessert 😋🥧 Pictures + Tags 📷 It’s easy to have an image for every recipe so it looks amazing scrolling through them. You can create tags so your collection of recipes are super organized. Scanning 📚 Any paper recipes or screenshots can easily be scanned and added to the app... and for how much? Free. Amazing. I’m impressed by how much the developers have done to improve, improve and improve this app. Download it, give it a chance, try it out and I bet you’re gonna love it. Veronica C

It was a good app, but this new update brought in great improvements. Of all the cooking apps I have tried, this has quickly become my favorite! The only changes I would make are: 1) Ability to add recipes offline, 2) Ability to delete app-native tags and 3) Ability to subtitle some steps.
  • Simply the best!
