The ESO App App Reviews

  • Great Companion Application, Poor Instructions

    By TexArdvark
Using an application with only intuition to go by somewhat detracts from the applications utility. True, this application has great maps and a lot of information but as a personal game tracker, I find it lacking. Perhaps if detailed user instructions, by platform, was provided within the application a more gratifying experience would be possible. I understand the inability to connect to game servers is a definite limitation to automatically tracking on user platforms but a simplified explanation as to how to manually track character aspects would lessen the disappointment. Currently I’m finding I cannot manually enter anything past a character. Map icons aren’t responding. All said though, the myriad of information available in one place makes this a must have application. As a retired system software engineer with years of design experience I appreciate the detail, thus my review is appreciative, but somewhat critical.
  • Highly Recommended!

    By krijgsdos
This app was highly recommended by my fellow guild members as I am a console player. I am currently exploring all the features and functions this app has to over but so far it is amazing! I don’t have to keep Google up to look up locations in game and makes it easy to track my ongoing research. Only thing I wish was that it shows an updated ##/## completed rather than whether or not all traits were researched as I have at least 5 traits in all equipment but it shows 0 as none of them are fully researched.
  • Search for lorebooks doesn’t work

    By bdarak
If you search for a lore book, NOTHING shows up in the search. Everything else works but lorebooks which was the only reason I bought this. You can’t click on the searched item.
  • Great, but missing some map items

    By slipk0
It is missing the eyeball icon locations, and places like craglorn are missing quite a few important markers.
  • Jewelry crafting surveys

    By BuM75
Great app! 1/5 because it’s been months since summerset update and the jewel crafting surveys haven’t been added. I messaged/emailed the creator and never received response.
  • Great but plz update

    By Jaycrashjc02
Wonderful app worthy of 5 stars if jewelry survey maps were included.
  • Eso app

Great app, thank you. Would like to see the Psijic Order leveling portals for their quests, but the program as is, is awesome 😁
  • Mixed Opinions - Fantastic and Terrible

    By DarcSparc
My Previous review was long, and I wanted you to actually read it, so I’ve removed my first impression and provided an updated opinion. THE GOOD: 5/5 - Maps This is where this app shines. Maps look beautiful, placement is spot on, character toggling works perfectly. Love it. Worth $2 just for this section. In fact, regardless of the bad I’ve listed below, it’s absolutely worth your purchase for the maps, so just buy it and support the developer so he makes all the improvements I’ve listed below. Yes, please pay him money so he gives me what I want 😝. 5/5 - Developer Updates I should have listed this on my first review and was remiss to do so. The developer is actively maintaining the app. Huge for an app tracking a game with constant changes. THE BAD: 1/5 - Backup Non-Existent I discovered a feature where you can email your character profile to yourself. The problem is it doesn’t work. I’ve tried opening a transfer on both my iPad and my iPhone. It does literally nothing. No other backup exists. Because this is such a lengthy process (it took me about 5-6 hours to fully set up 4 characters in the app with relevant data), lack of backup is about the worst thing this developer could fail at. I would literally change my rating to 4 stars with a functional backup and to 5 stars if it actually had a “sync” between devices. 2/5 - Swiping Swiping is great until it’s not. The secondary action of then needing to click a star is fine until about the 10th time. After the 1000th time you want to slam your face into a concrete wall. This should have been swipe left to indicate completion and swipe right to clear, or simply swipe left again to clear. If feels clunky after doing it repeatedly, and i hope gets some attention by the developer. UPDATE: if you super long swipe left, you can set and clear the research marker without having to click the star. 1/5 - Selected Character You choose your character, and the name is specified on the top bar of the app. The moment you drill down into one of the crafting menus, you literally have no way to know which character you are editing. This is a complete fail. If you are trying to track multiple characters and switching between them it is incredibly easy to get lost and start making changes to the wrong character. There is no change log provided, so if you are stuck in this predicament, you get to manually go through your characters all over again!!! Waste of time and could easily be solved by the developer. 1/5 - Crafting Research Let’s face it, a lot of us want to track crafting research. Now, I am not complaining about the lack of crafting timers. These would be a huge plus, but I also realize they could be complicated to implement with the benefit to crafting via ESO plus, timer changes as you learn more traits, etc. No, I am referring to the fact you can’t compare what one of your characters know versus the others. This is very simple to implement. There absolutely should be a crafting section on the Resources tab that lets you drill into any specific trait, and lets you know which characters have learned it or not yet researched it. We are already providing the developer with this data by taking the hours to swipe it and click it into the character section. The lack of the feature is huge. You know that staff with “decisive” that just dropped? Yeah, you have to click into, and about of about 10 menus to find out for each character and must remember or write down on paper who needs to learn it. Yeah. Complete fail. 3/5 Character Deletion In my original review, I noted I had incredible difficulty deleting my first character, which was named incorrectly due to autocorrect on my phone. The deletion of a character actually works perfectly fine with one major exception - you cannot delete the current selected character. Yup, if the character is highlighted, you can ONLY reset. So if you create one character and want to delete, you will swipe yourself into oblivion and the Daedra eat your heart for desert. Molag Bal will devour your soul as you swipe for eternity. UPDATE: I should mention it does indicate this in one of the FAQs. I read all the FAQs and user guides, and either missed this nuance originally, or the developer added notation in yesterday’s update. I can’t stare which because I already have the latest update on both my devices. RESPONSE TO DEVELOPER: I have read the FAQs. I have read the user guides. The email “transfer” does not work on iOS. I have attempted this multiple times and the app simply opens up and ZERO data is added to the character section. There is no “import” option within the app itself, that I can find, and I’ve clicked everything in the app multiple times now. The swiping and star clicking is required if you haven’t fully completed sets, and is very cumbersome if you are halfway complete on a LOT of stuff. You could really stand improve the interface here - the research fields are way out of order compared to the game. Lack of research comparison between characters, when we are giving you the data directly, is a huge miss. Not knowing which character your editing in sub menus also a huge miss. Only two of my comments are covered in the referenced guides/FAQs, and one doesn’t work at all.
  • Best ESO app

    By Heisbwksoabd fuevajdvje
Very happy with this app, I use it primarily for keeping track of builds, however it’s other features work very well too. As a note to the developer, some issues that are present, that I have come across include: -Unable to select armor enchantments -Killers blade icon doesn’t display -Champion point allotment is still set at 720 (iPhone X) Some features I believe that could be useful: -Copying builds -Manually reordering builds when listed in menus

These reviews must be fake, the app user interface is garbage, it has barely any content, not worth even 1 cent...
