  • Lots of potential and a few flaws.

Update December 2018. I keep checking back because I keep hoping this thing will get better. Still junk after all this time. Tried to import 3 recipes from their list of “supported” sites. Got message on two different Recipes stating that it couldn’t find the recipe. On the third recipe, it imported the recipe without the ingredients. ————————————————-/ Crashing fixed. Now I cannot login. Paid 12.99 for premium content, can't login to my account to access it. It just spins. --------------------------------- Constant crashes. Can no longer access recipes without crashing. ----------------------------------- They seem to have abandoned this app. No updates in months. It's by no means perfect. Could use some updating. ----------------------------------- I paid the $12 for the app. It's strong on shopping and inventory management. I can keep separate lists for each store. Then I can rearrange the shopping aisles to match the layout of each store, I can enter prices for each store. Then it will do a price comparison for each store. You can track coupons etc. I find recipe management almost unusable. First of all, the ingredients show up sorted by category or alphabetically, not in recipe order. Second, you can only add an ingredient to a recipe one time. This becomes a problem during recipe import. If you have a long recipe that has sections like Cake, Filling, Frosting etc, then it will only show the last entry for an ingredient. Say your cake calls for 1 1/2 cups of sugar and the icing calls for another 1/2 cup of sugar. All you will see is the 1/2 cup of sugar. Third, the app is not at all intuitive when it comes to ingredients. If you have an ingredient named EGGS and you import a recipe calling for one EGG, it creates a new ingredient called EGG rather than selecting EGGS. This rather defeats the purpose of the inventory tracker. I have a dozen EGGS in stock but no EGG. This is a problem because there is a status indicator on each recipe showing how many ingredients are in stock for a recipe at any time. So you cannot rely on this indicator. Fourth, you cannot add your own units of measure. --Update They are completely unresponsive to support requests. Would I recommend this product? Not really. If you want a solidly functioning recipe/inventory/menu/shopping app, try Meal Board. It is best I have tried so far. Grocery King has potential to surpass it. I hope GK will mature and reach its full potential, but it's not quite there. --12/2016 updates are few and far between
  • Amazing app

A actually good grocery app in years.
  • Where’s the tax?

    By singinghymns
This app used to calculate the tax. Now it lets me add tax to my item but it doesn’t add it into the total cart price or on the final receipt. A ton of apps do that which takes this from being special to being humdrum. Looking for a new app
  • No longer Disappointed 😊

Update: After confusing response from developer and subsequent emails, the problem was resolved on May 25. The support page links are now functional as well. I still haven’t used all of the features of the app But the basic list is great! I like the ability to scan the barcodes for specific items and save to the list database, and the ability to download pics from internet. Haven’t had a chance to use the recipe features, but think that will be a great option once the desktop version is released. I still think a limited time trial of the full version would be beneficial for users to decide to spend $12.99 for an app. For me, this one is worth it. Thank you to the developers for getting back to me and fixing my issue! Is this a scam? No response after 2 emails to request help. I paid $12.99 for the premium/ complete subscription yesterday. But the app is still not recognizing the subscription. I have receipt from apple that payment was made with same email address. The limit to add 15 items to the list is RUDICULOUS! All of your ‘HELP’ selections lead to non-existing pages. I’ve used a free grocery app for years that worked perfectly. I am only trying this one, as current iOS doesn’t support old app. I’ll be going to grocery store today with a paper list. I’d really appreciate the courtesy of a reply. I expect either a solution to the subscription issue or a refund so I can move on to another app. I completely agree with other reviewers who suggest that apps offer a short trial period of the complete app before requiring payment.
  • iPhone X update needs some tweaking

    By blueyeinthesky
The screen is too stretched. The top of every screen is covered by the black bar at the top of my phone, making it difficult to search for items. The menus that open at the bottom of each screen are too close to the ‘close app’ bar, and when I try to scroll up I end up closing the app. Still having issues uploading photos, they appear pixelated and enlarged. Also I just tried to add a recipe and I can’t figure out how to edit an ingredient... it only will allow me to adjust the quantity.
  • Full version too costly compared to others

    By Nikol2477
Really like but too costly over a shopping App
  • App Crashes and Cannot Sync, Share or etc on Full Paid Version

    By jabra76
I paid for the full version on my iPhone several months ago but I am still unable to sync, share or email my lists. When I go to the link in the app to share the app crashes. I have sent several requests thru the app and via email but have not gotten a single response. The app has great potential but when I can’t use the tools that I have paid for, it’s useless at this point.
  • Only good if you pay for it

    By Hskbeownamielsl
Wish I would have known the free version only allows you to add 15 items before it tries to force you to pay for a subscription. It is a cool app if you actually want to pay the $13/year. It categorizes your items so it makes it easy to shop, but I did notice a lot of normal items aren’t listed and fall under the “other category”.
  • Great app

  • Needs more features

    By TheOfficialKeisha
Would love to see the following: 1) ability to add items directly from the stock to a meal plan (currently have to add it as a recipe, so single items like an apple would be considered a recipe or an ingredient in a recipe). 2) ability for the stock to auto-deduct items added to a meal plan (still have to manually deduct what's used.) 3) direct access to the catalog from the main menu (currently have to open a list before gaining access). As it stands, all the features of this app are great but almost function as standalone entities rather than being interconnected. The app doesn't talk to itself, if you will.
