Hangouts Meet App Reviews

  • Mute Option

Read other reviews and thought it’s impossible you can’t mute speakers. Maybe people are just missing something. Well, nope you can’t mute speakers ! Even tuning down the iPad to low volume doesn’t mute but is still out enough for others to hear. Needs to be fixed ASAP
  • Safari

We use hangouts for work and the new ‘meet’ doesn’t work on safari and there’s no Mac app. I don’t want to download chrome or safari just for meetings.
  • Missing key features and no way to shut off speaker

Can’t share a doc or screen from iPad Can’t turn volume to zero, causing feedback, which is a huge pain if you have to use a cell phone for audio. Keeps asking for feedback at end of every meeting.
  • Honestly, this is the bee's knees of vidcon

Think about the benefits. Doxoyy have a Google account? Probably yes. Do you own or work for a business? Probably. This app makes it insanely easy to add video conferencing to a meeting. That solves a lot of problems I've seen with video conferencing. Then if I join or get an invite like this it's one click it join. No plugins to download even though it's technically possible for all their competitors to do. App is just as easy to use, thanks to you Google Meet iOS team. p.s. please add iOS screen sharing
  • Robot Voices, Awful Audio, and often Glitches

    By MaeganIsTheBest1213
DO NOT PURCHASE THIS APP! It is the worst app that I have ever used. Whenever I was talking through it, the person on the other side texted me, telling me that she heard a robot- like voice through the speakers. I did not believe her, until it happened to me myself! Another thing that annoys me about the app is that it takes a long time to load the chat. Once it finished loading, it said that I entered an ‘invalid code’. I advise you not to use this app. Google did an awful job making this. Don’t waste your time with this Google Meet junk. FaceTime and Skype are WAY better and save a lot of time and energy. I am so unimpressed.

  • Great for freezing your iPhone!

    By JonPStevens
This version is terrible. Frankly google should be ahead of Webex, instead they have an app which constantly freezes, making your whole experience terrible.
  • Super flaky on iPhone XR max

  • Cannot Mute Speakers

    By Cosco3
Relatively good app, minus one minor flaw which delivers a significant problem: you can’t mute the speakers. Very often, I’ll join a Meet from my phone, but then need to join via iPad for a quick screen share. But on the iPad, you can’t mute the speakers. You can only turn it down to one bar which is enough to be heard by others around you or to be distracting if you’re not wearing headphones. This shouldn’t be that difficult to fix, but a search shows that it’s been persistent for a while. C’mon, Google. Please fix this.
